One of our favourite places to take our campervan in Cornwall is St Ives. It has some beautiful sandy beaches within easy walking distance of St Ives town centre and attracts a lot of attention from British holiday makers. 

The Cornish coastline stretches for over 250 miles and has no shortage of fantastic beaches and coves, probably around 150 to choose from. These range from small secluded, hidden coves, to vast expanses of beautiful golden sand.

Some of the sandy beaches have sheltered bathing and rock pools for the children to explore, and there are plenty of surfing beaches which face into the Atlantic Ocean hence, the amazing waves for the avid surfer! 

The fine golden sand and turquoise waters of St Ives Bay are amongst some of the best and cleanest in Europe and regularly receive the Blue Flag awards. Lifeguards generally patrol these beaches throughout the season making them a safe environment particularly for families surfers and swimmers alike.

If you choose to go on your campervan holiday in Cornwall, you will not be disappointed.  Apart from the abundance of beautiful beaches, there is a vast choice of places to eat from beach cafes to exclusive restaurants and of course, you will need to find a good campsite to stay.

We had a wonderful holiday in Fred. We travelled all around Wales, myself, my husband and our dog. Fred was comfortable, warm and well equipped. We wanted for nothing except maybe some sunshine. The whole experience was made easy and exciting with the help and assistance of Lucy and Chris. This was our first time in a campervan but we felt well prepared after watching the YouTube videos Lucy sent us and the patient explanations and demonstrations from both Lucy and Chris. My wife and I hired Arthur for a Long weekend as a try before we buy. Lucy and Chris were absolutely brilliant throughout. The information about how to use everything was detailed but not overwhelming. The use of videos ( all backed up with a comprehensive hand book in the van) made Getting “ acquainted “ before the hire started much simpler. There was nothing more we could have asked for, they had thought of everything. When we returned Arthur the hand over was again very friendly and efficient and we the security deposit was back in our account very promptly. Would throughly recommend Lucy & Chris ( and Arthur)without hesitation

We had a great time away in the van which we hired from West Country VW Campervans.All the equipment you would need was included.Lucy was brilliant in showing us how to safely set up the bed and awning and turning on the gas etc.Fred II was great to drive and easy to set up once we arrived at our destination and we knew Lucy and Chris were only a phone call away if we had any problems.A perfect way to try out a campervan before buying – we are hooked.Thanks to Lucy and Chris for the use of Fred. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous trip. The camper was beautifully presented and well kitted out. The booking and return process was seamless and we were kept informed throughout the process. Spent a wonderful weekend in 'Fred II' with my daughter staying at the Badminton Horse Trials campsite. We were also newbies to the delights of VW campers and 'Fred' (along with Jo and Roger) provided the perfect initiation. A beautifully presented and equipped van which surpassed our expectations for comfort and facilities. 'Fred' was much admired! Special thanks to Jo and Roger for their excellent and patient briefing and support manual incase you forgot anything!

This was my first experience of holidaying in a Campervan and Jo & Roger were most helpful in responding to my questions prior to my holiday. I hired "Arthur" for 10 days in mid Sept 2021 and I was extremely lucky with some late summer weather. I stayed at 3 separate campsites and really enjoyed the freedom that this type of holiday offers."Arthur" was fully kitted out with just about everything you could possibly need for a holiday on the road, including an integrated warm air heater. Even a padded mattress topper was provided which made the bed really comfortable.Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend you take the time to view all the YouTube videos Roger & Jo have created - they clearly demonstrate how to set-up the campervan and they will reinforce the practical demonstration you are given when you collect the campervan. I would also suggest taking a small pop-up tent to use for storing bulky items / extra baggage whilst staying on your campsite. This will allow you to have much easier access to the various storage compartments within the campervan. I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I did.

This was our first campervan holiday experience and, thanks to Jo and Roger (and Fred), we had an amazing time! Fred was really the star of the show. He is stylish & smart.Fred contained everything we needed for a comfortable holiday and Jo & Roger couldn't have been more helpful with making sure that we were happy with everything before we set off. We were really impressed with the solar power, as we were off grid for 4 days, and everything worked well.I would really recommend this to newbies like us!
